          Short-Term Care Insurance Coverage

Short-term care (STC) insurance addresses the significant financial risk facing individuals today.

          Short-Term Care (STC) Defined

Short-term care insurance policies offer benefits for many different types of health care and aging needs. They generally are purchased by individuals ages 50-89 to cover the gaps in Medicare coverage or as an alternative to traditional long-term care insurance protection.

As the name implies, short-term care insurance policies are designed to provide benefits for just a few days or up to 360 days.

What can policies cover? Short-term care insurance policies can vary in terms of what they cover as well as coverage limits. In general, these policies will cover:

          Plan “B” Coverage

If you qualify and can afford traditional long-term care insurance, that should be your plan “A” coverage.

Many people who want to purchase some form of coverage can’t afford or can’t qualify for long-term care coverage. Short-term coverage may be the only option. No product is perfect for everybody but some coverage is better than no coverage.

Do I Qualify for Short-Term Care Insurance?

It’s easier to qualify for a short-term care insurance policy. The application doesn’t require a medical exam, no medical records, and most companies only ask a handful of yes/no questions.

          Medicare

Are You Confused About the Different Parts of Medicare?

There are two main ways to get Medicare.

Original Medicare is administered by the federal government and commonly referred to as Part A Hospital Insurance and Part B Medical Services Insurance. If you want drug coverage (Part D), you purchase a separate drug plan administered by a private insurance company. Most localities have many drug plans to choose from. Then to help with some out-of-pocket costs, many people purchase a Medicare Supplement Plan. Again, there are many plans available in the market. Let us help you find the perfect plan for your specific needs.

Medicare Advantage, commonly called Part C plans, are administered by private insurance companies and are simply an alternative way for you to receive your Part A and Part B benefits. There are several Medicare Advantage Plans available in the greater Indianapolis area. Let us be your guide.
